My front porch in Old Town Eureka is known as The Sunny Side. Southern exposure, protected from the wind, it is an ideal place to sit and play old timey tunes and watch the parade go by.

August 1, 1921

My grand parents in Sanger, California. They had met at a dance in Harrington, Kansas where Charlie worked as a machinist for Rock Island Railroad in 1920. Charlie was born in Wasco, Oregon, Helen in Manhattan, Kansas. They soon moved to California during a strike. My uncle Harold was born a month later, my dad in Lindsay in 1925.
