My front porch in Old Town Eureka is known as The Sunny Side. Southern exposure, protected from the wind, it is an ideal place to sit and play old timey tunes and watch the parade go by.

Golden Falls, Big Basin

This is a beautiful photo sent to me by my cousin Brian from Santa Cruz of him and his friends hiking around Big Basin State Park in the Santa Cruz Mountains. We used to have family reunions there before my grand mother passed away in 1993. That's Brian on the left.

I wonder who this guy is.

Art Critic

We got back from our trip Wednesday night. I went out pretty late to get a few things out of the car and heard the unmistakable rattling of a spray paint can. The police captured the 'artist' within five minutes of receiving the call. Man, I bet he was surprised. Kudos to the Eureka Police Department for their quick response.

Calistoga And Sonoma

Laura and I took a drive to the Bay Area with a side trip through the wine country.

What's Goin' Gone!

Sadly I report that the great local public service program What's Goin' On! is to be discontinued because of budgetary considerations. Twisted Geezer was scheduled to do a report March 18th from The Sunny Side, but alas, it is not to be.

I used to enjoy watching Joel Agnew say Slackjaw week after week from 2001 to 2003. He moved on and was replaced by my friend, the lovely and talented Rashida Smith who visited with Slackjaw on The Sunny Side for her very last appearance.

After Slackjaw disbanded in 2004 Ross Rowley, the What's Goin' On Producer, began taping occasional episodes on The Sunny Side with my friends and I, Twisted Geezer.

It is really disheartening to realize that all these years, from 2001 to the present, George Bush and company were stealing everything they could get their pudgy hands on, leaving America on it's knees with business' and services failing left and right. And I fear the worse is yet to come.

The most dastardly October Surprise ever.
