My front porch in Old Town Eureka is known as The Sunny Side. Southern exposure, protected from the wind, it is an ideal place to sit and play old timey tunes and watch the parade go by.

TC passed away Monday, August 31. TC owned and operated the grocery store in Orick for many years until he retired. I met him in 2001 when I moved to Old Town. A World War II vet, his brother was killed on the USS Arizona during the attack of Pearl Harbor and is entombed in the memorial. TC was a great friend and will be greatly missed. Today, Sept. 9, is TC's birthday. There is a get together planned for Thursday, Sept. 10, 5pm at Has Beans. You can view the Times Standard obituary by clicking here.
