My front porch in Old Town Eureka is known as The Sunny Side. Southern exposure, protected from the wind, it is an ideal place to sit and play old timey tunes and watch the parade go by.

Willy On The Whomp Bucket

Willy on the whomp bucket Monday outside Has Beans Coffee.

The Chinese fiddle and bow in this and the following video is fresh out of the box purchased from Eureka Pawn And Trade on Fourth St. for a hundred bucks. All new fiddles and string instruments at Eureka Pawn And Trade are lovingly set up and tuned by yers truly. Not bad for a hundred dollar fiddle. Willy's whomp bucket was made in the goodle USA.

I love the way that sounds, Willy on the whomp bucket. That would be a good name for an album. Here's a link to a You Tube video of Willy singing with Billie Bowden at Slab City. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yrITZdIXDGM
Those two have sung together for many years all across the country.

We sure missed you at the pic-a-nic. Sorry to hear about your car battery. At least we were thinkin' about you when we were devouring the sardines and brown bread.

I just put a new battery in and that didn't fix it. My buddy Russ, Fobwe Mobile Mechanic, is out of town but says it sounds like the starter motor. Man, cars sure are fun. Oh, and I got a parking ticket for leaving it at Ramones overnight. Luckily I have towing. John at Humboldt Towing put it in my back yard.
