My front porch in Old Town Eureka is known as The Sunny Side. Southern exposure, protected from the wind, it is an ideal place to sit and play old timey tunes and watch the parade go by.

has there been a change of venue? Looks like you got the whole gang down to Ramone's, was Has Beans closed? Or has the new management done something to offend?

The new management has decided to close at 4 pm. They would also like the open mic to run from 4 to 6 pm on Saturday. This last Saturday they booted folks out at 8 pm. It's as if the business is just too inconvenient. Ramone's is a very nice place.

too bad about the change of hours at The Bean. It was always nice to have a place with regulars that you know and be a bit out-of-the-way so you feel like you own part of the place. Sounds like the new management wants to take that pleasant obscurity to a new level of complete obscurity.

Davey sure posted a scathing review in his blog, http://viewsfromdacrowsnest.blogspot.com/2008/05/has-beans-is-has-been.html

Wow. I give them until February of next year.

Bob's Buck-A-Cup, Eh? That has a nice ring to it.

By the way, Since when did Ernest Borgnine and William Holden start hanging out with you guys?

That's Huck's-Buck-A-Cup. How about Bob's-Hawk-A-Cup? I used to call Has Beans a place with a buck a cup and a million dollar view.

Yeah, and we'll miss you too, Roger. Stake out a good coffee shop in Las Vegas and we'll get over there and enjoy our afternoon senior activities hour.
