My front porch in Old Town Eureka is known as The Sunny Side. Southern exposure, protected from the wind, it is an ideal place to sit and play old timey tunes and watch the parade go by.

Obama '08 T Shirt

I got my tee shirt in the mail today, for making a donation to Obama's Presidential campaign. America is calling for change. Not a day passes in Old Town that I'm not asked for change. Barack Obama promises change. The other candidates only promise more of the same. If you really want change support Barack Obama.

Change? Change! Huck, you're a genius to put those together. Perhaps we can put those SEEKING change in touch with Mr. Obama who hopes to provide change. You made me smile tonight!

They also ask for cigarettes. But if Obama can provide change maybe they can buy their own smokes.

That would be embarrassing. I once attended a wedding reception wearing the same new plaid shirt from Penny's as another guest. Man, everybody noticed. It was inevitable that we ended up standing together, drinking and chatting like a couple of Siamese twins. Once at a custodian's Christmas party at HSU a friend and fellow custodian dressed up in a real sharp looking 40 dollar suit he'd bought at Sears. The Vice Prez of Academic Affairs, Ed Delbiaggio, showed up wearing the exact same suit. Sure enough they ended up standing and chatting together. But my friend had a nicer looking tie.
