My front porch in Old Town Eureka is known as The Sunny Side. Southern exposure, protected from the wind, it is an ideal place to sit and play old timey tunes and watch the parade go by.

Dave At Work

I scanned this photo from the Times-Standard. Dave works as the Chef at the Senior Resource Center. And he is, indeed, a very good cook. As well as musician.

Redwood Park, 1997

This party was in honor of newlyweds Lou and Cindy, in the center. Lou passed away a couple years ago. On the far left is Lou's father, who passed shortly after this party. Back row with hat is Wandering Willie, another departed friend.

This was the day I met my daughter's mother. That's my friend Bruce playing guitar next to me. Photo by Tree Bear.

The Blues Is Hard

The Blues Is Hard ┬ęBrother James, 2007

I got the blues so bad,
A ski blew off my Porsche on my way to Tahoe.
I got the blues so bad,
Somebody forgot to put gasoline in my ski boat.
If these blues don't kill me
I'll have to rent out my house in Tahoe
and move back to Reno.

People don't think that white suburban rich people
up here in Tahoe get the blues,
People don't think that white rich people
up here in Tahoe get the blues,
But my house burned down at Lake Tahoe,
I'm gonna have to evict all those people at
my house in Sacramento and move back into there.

The blues is hard.

Two friends now have reported to me that my blog renders all brown on their browsers. One posted an image. But another friend said it renders just fine, like the second image. I wonder what's up with that?

Flatmo's Sistine Chapel

This is the most incredible mural that I have ever seen. Duane Flatmo has really outdone himself with this painting on the back of the new Arkley Center For The Performing Arts.

Old Town Fourth Of July

I strolled through Old Town today to check out the Fouth of July festival. Ran into a bunch of friends and they let me take their pics.
