My front porch in Old Town Eureka is known as The Sunny Side. Southern exposure, protected from the wind, it is an ideal place to sit and play old timey tunes and watch the parade go by.

Two friends now have reported to me that my blog renders all brown on their browsers. One posted an image. But another friend said it renders just fine, like the second image. I wonder what's up with that?

I suspect the guy with the brown page has custom set his browser options to use specific colors for certain things, overiding the page's true colors.

I forget how that's done but I did it to myself with Netscape years ago. Fiddled around with Options and chose to use my own colors for things. Ended up having text colored in while, for reasons that escape me now.

For about a week I couldn't figure out why I couldn't read text unless it was on a dark background. Then I figured out what I'd done and fixed it.

Thanks, Fred. I think that it was IE browsers that couldn't see it. I went through the template and removed some meta tags that I had put in from some place called orgblog or something like that. I think they kept the page from loading in IE.
