1951 was a very bad year for the fishing community of Monterey Bay. Cannery Row collapsed because the anchovies did not appear as they had every year since time immortal. It became common for folks to order pizza without anchovies. But it was a very good year for me, because that was the year that I was born in Santa Cruz, Ca. on beautiful Monterey Bay. And I don't like anchovies on my pizza anyway.

Zack And Randy

It was a beautiful day on the Sunny Side. Finally. Zack and Randy stopped by to enjoy the sun. I took these pics with my new Nexus One Google phone, a free gift from Google as thanks for helping out in the help discussion forums. Google rocks.

Memories Of Larry Luckett

Larry and his folks lived next door to me in Pomona in the sixties. A few years older than me, he was always kind and watched out for me. He played football for Ganesha High while I was still at Marshall Jr. High. We'd go to the football games just to watch Larry play. We moved to South Pasadena in 1967 and in 1969 I got a call from Larry's family telling me that he had died in action off the coast of Viet Nam. About 1980 I found his name on the traveling Viet Nam Memorial Wall when it was visiting Redwood Park in Arcata. Such a lose. Larry was a wonderful person and is always in my heart.

His sister Linda found my email address at http://www.ganeshahighschool.com/vbportals/ and sent me these pics of Larry and my old house. The last photo is the house in 2005 taken by my old school chum John Sullivan.

Images From Patrick Kennedy

A fellow named Patrick and his wife with their dogs were traveling through Eureka a year or so ago, touring in a very nice camper as I recall, and happened upon Brother James, Roscoe and me playing music on the corner of 2nd and H St. He found my email addy and sent these and others along. Thank you Patrick.

The Big One

It was the largest quake that I've felt. Lots of broken glass and fallen bricks in Old Town. 6.5 on the Richter Scale.
